Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 September 2026
1. Agreement
By using chiangmaibrief.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.
2. What we provide
The Chiang Mai Brief is a free, independent English-language publication and city guide covering Chiang Mai, Thailand. We publish:
- Practical guides on living in Chiang Mai — visas, cost of living, renting, healthcare, banking, remote work and air quality
- Neighbourhood guides for the city and surrounding areas
- Food and drink coverage, including restaurants, Northern Thai cuisine and cafés
- Things to do, including temples, culture, markets and shopping
- Travel guidance covering local transport, day trips and the airport
- Festival and event coverage, and a News & Updates feed
- An email newsletter
3. Information is guidance, not advice
We work hard to keep our guides accurate and current, but immigration rules, prices, fares, opening hours and business details change constantly and often without notice. Nothing on this site is legal, immigration, medical, tax or financial advice. Always confirm anything consequential with the relevant authority or a qualified professional before acting on it.
4. Third parties
We mention specific businesses, hospitals, banks, transport operators, government offices and attractions. We have no control over them and we are not responsible for the service they provide, the accuracy of their own information, or any dealings you have with them. External links are provided for convenience and are not endorsements of everything on the destination site.
5. Editorial independence
We do not accept payment for inclusion in a guide or recommendation. Where any commercial relationship exists on a page, we will disclose it clearly on that page.
6. Intellectual property
All original text, images, layout and design on this site belong to The Chiang Mai Brief and are protected by copyright. You're welcome to quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link. Republishing whole articles, or using our content to train commercial models without permission, is not permitted.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the site to break the law, don't attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, and don't scrape it at a volume that degrades service for other readers.
8. Newsletter
Subscribing is voluntary and you can unsubscribe from any issue. We may change the frequency or format of the newsletter, or discontinue it, at any time.
9. Limitation of liability
The site is provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Chiang Mai Brief is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on information published here.
10. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The current version always sits on this page, with the revision date at the top.
11. Contact
